This course prepares caring adults to recognize early signs that a youth may be struggling with their mental health and to respond in supportive, caring ways. Participants will learn how to talk with students, reduce stigma around mental health, and understand when and how to refer students for additional support.
The course also explores the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), the role of resilience, and the powerful influence mentors have in helping students feel seen, supported, and connected. Emphasis is placed on the importance of belonging and the role of one trusted adult in helping students navigate challenges and thrive.
