Wear sturdy shoes and warm, comfortable clothing, as parts of the tour will be outdoors.
The tour also includes climbing and descending stairs/ladders, so if you are physically unable to accomplish this, please reach out to the event organizer.
Please arrive at the Port Security Facility (311 Roger Graves Road) about 10 minutes before 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 27. There is usually an abundance of tractor-trailer traffic on ship day, so please be alert and drive safely. You will be stopped at “Checkpoint 1,” and an officer will direct you to the security building. Each person will need to present identification.
When you’ve completed your check-in at the security building, continue to our administration building (2511 Tidewater Road) where we will have appropriate identification badges, safety vests, and hearing protection for you. At this time, you will be given a personal safety briefing.
Firearms and/or ammunition are not permitted and must be removed from your vehicle prior to entry onto the port.
