Sustainable Landscapes Walking Tour
About This Event
Join us for a walking tour co-led by our horticulturist and environmental specialist.
Together, we will walk the historic grounds, exploring the cemetery's "working landscapes” including our beautiful, active rain gardens. You'll discover how these carefully designed native plant sanctuaries protect the local watershed by naturally filtering stormwater before it reaches the Potomac River.
This tour offers a unique behind-the-scenes look at how we keep these sacred grounds beautiful and green for generations to come.
Event Details:
- Meet at the Welcome Center Information Desk.
- Wear comfortable walking shoes and consider bringing a bottle of water.
- Tour may be canceled due to inclement weather.
- This tour is free and open to the public. No registration is required.
