CPR: Infant & Child (In-person)

Our CPR: Infant & Child (In-person) class offers instruction in the techniques for both infant and child cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). This class uses the American Heart Association's (AHA) Family & Friends CPR curriculum and is a noncertification class. It is intended for anyone who wants to learn CPR, but does not need an AHA course completion card. We recommend this course to new parents, grandparents and other caregivers of newborns through school-aged children. An instructional booklet is given to each couple.

Class Length: One session, 2.5 hours

Class Fee: $100 per couple. Please make arrangements to leave your infant at home.

W hat you will learn:

• Infant CPR
• Infant choking
• Child CPR
• Child and adult choking

During class, there are infant and child manikins available for hands-on practice. Each couple will share one infant manikin and one child manikin for practice of breathing and chest compressions. All manikins will be sanitized prior to your class.

When to take the class: There is no wrong time to take CPR. We recommend taking the class in the 3rd trimester of your pregnancy or within your baby's first 12 months of age, so the information is fresh for you. However, a CPR class will be applicable at any time.
