Looking for a fun, enriching way to spend time with your family? Books & Cooks is a FREE 12-week, in-person and online, literacy and nutrition program created in collaboration with New Worlds Reading. Weekly sessions help families with a child in K-5th grade support enjoyment of reading, healthy eating, and family connection through fun, hands-on activities. Throughout the program, participants will share their experiences as part of a research study to measure the impact of Books & Cooks.

When:

• Families will participate in a Spring session (January-April). The schedule is tentative and depends on the child's grade level.
• In-person classes are once a week, every other week
• During the “online” weeks, families don’t attend traditional virtual classes. Instead, they complete self-paced activities designed to reinforce the concepts covered during in-person classes.

Where:

- In Haines City at the Leroy & Virginia Tyler Youth Enrichment Center (1008 Avenue D, Haines City, FL 33844)

- In West Central Polk County (exact location to be determined)

Cost: FREE!
