An intimate, interactive celebration of movement, memory, and the power of showing up as you are.

Join K★STAR★PRODUCTIONS and the Kendra Kimbrough Dance Ensemble (KKDE) as we launch our 30th Anniversary Season with As You Are, a year-long artistic journey honoring our past, embracing our present, and imagining what comes next.

After navigating some of the most challenging years in the company's history, including a period of hiatus and transition, KKDE returns with renewed purpose and an invitation to reconnect through dance, storytelling, and shared experiences.

Rather than a traditional, fully staged concert, As You Are offers an intimate and evolving experience featuring structured improvisation, movement, personal reflections, and community conversation. Audiences are invited not only to witness the work but also to participate through accessible movement and opportunities for collective reflection.

BCF Next Stage: First Look! + KKDE's As You Are

A celebration connecting legacy with possibility! Experience a special presentation by KKDE alongside the introduction of the 2026–27 Black Choreographers Festival Artist Mentoring Program (BCF AMP) cohort; Alaja Badalich, Ja'Moon Jones, and Olutola Afolayan. Meet the selected choreographers, experience selections from their current work, and celebrate the beginning of their creative development journey toward BCF 2027.
