About This Event

--

How does the Constitution continue to shape the nation’s most pressing legal and political debates? What will it take to preserve the rule of law and democratic institutions for future generations?

Constitutional law scholar and Strict Scrutiny co-host Melissa Murray is one of the nation’s leading voices on the evolving relationship between law, democracy, and American public life. Her latest book, The U.S. Constitution: A Comprehensive and Annotated Guide for the Modern Reader, explores the Constitution as both a historical document and a living framework for democratic governance.

As the United States commemorates its 250th anniversary, join the Goldman School and Professor Melissa Murray for a conversation on what it means to engage with the Constitution today, the role of the Supreme Court in interpreting its principles, and the challenges confronting American democracy in the years ahead.

This event is part of the Goldman School of Public Policy’s Democracy Book Club series, which features authors whose work enriches our understanding of democracy by examining the institutions, policies, and civic traditions that shape democratic life.
