On December 5, 2026, at 10am, PCCD staff will be leading a guided hike along the Forest Discovery Trail at Grey Towers National Historic Site to highlight the natural resources of Pike County.
Come join us and our partners at Lacawac Sanctuary as we wind our way through White Pines and Eastern Hemlocks, exploring interactive exhibits and learning about invasive species, tree-ring science, and the restoration of the American Chestnut. You may even see some historic landmarks along the way!
All participants will be required to complete a PCCD program waiver before the hike. Bring water, comfortable shoes, and a passion for conservation.
This is the 4th hike in our 2026 series of 4 seasonal “Hikes in Pike.” Anyone who completes all 4 hikes will receive one FREE “Hikes in Pike” Stoni patch! Anyone wishing to receive a patch at the end of the “Hikes in Pike” series MUST check in with District staff at each of the four hikes to track their attendance in order to be eligible to receive a patch at the end of the year. Patches will be handed out at the end of this hike
