Basic Ag: Agriculture 101 is a new educational series designed for landowners, beginning agricultural producers, and anyone looking to build a better understanding of agriculture.
Our first program, From the Ground Up: Understanding Your Land & Pastures, focuses on the foundation of any agricultural operation—the land. Participants will learn how to better understand their property, including soils, acreage, water, fences, existing vegetation, and the capabilities and limitations of their land.
The program will also cover pasture basics, including grass and weed identification, soil testing, fertilization, mowing, grazing management, and hay production. Whether you recently purchased property, are getting started in agriculture, or simply want to better manage the land you already have, this program will provide practical, research-based information you can put to work.
