Non-Lethal Defense for Personal Safety

Non-Lethal Defense for Personal Safety is an empowering, hands-on training experience designed to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to respond effectively to personal threats—without crossing the line into deadly force. Developed by Personal Best Firearms Training Inc., this course teaches situational awareness, threat recognition, and the proper use of legal non-lethal defense tools such as pepper spray, TASER systems, stun guns, and high-lumen defensive flashlights. Students will also learn how to identify early warning signs of aggression, de-escalate confrontations, and make quick, confident decisions under pressure.

Participants will also learn about the legal and ethical responsibilities of using non-lethal defensive tools, including Illinois’ justifiable use-of-force laws and reporting procedures following a defensive encounter. The course emphasizes accountability, documentation, and post-incident mental preparedness—ensuring attendees understand not only how to act safely and effectively but also how to manage the aftermath responsibly.
