First Fridays at the Sol Featuring Saxophonist Keschia Potter and Friends

First Fridays at the Sol is where grown folks come to listen to live jazz, dance and have a great time. Our featured artist for November is "Keschia Potter and Friends". Keschia Potter is an accomplished Los Angeles-based saxophonist, bandleader, recording artist, and educator. A UCLA-trained musician, Potter began her musical journey as a young pianist before discovering the saxophone in high school. She went on to establish the Keschia Potter Quartet and has performed and toured internationally with some of the biggest names in music, including Beyoncé, Robin Thicke, Jennifer Hudson, and Lady Gaga. Her impressive credits include performances at the Grammy Awards and Glastonbury Festival, as well as appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Good Morning America, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and other major television programs.

Beyond the stage, Potter is deeply committed to music education and mentoring the next generation of musicians. She has served as an educator at California State University, Long Beach and Compton College and has worked with young musicians throughout the Los Angeles community. Known for her versatility, powerful musicianship, and dynamic stage presence, Potter continues to perform, record, and inspire audiences through her distinctive voice on the saxophone and her dedication to developing future generations of artists.
