Nashville Social presents an afternoon of jazz, holiday favorites and timeless melodies as the John Shipley Trio celebrates the music of legendary pianist and composer Vince Guaraldi.

Best known for creating the unforgettable jazz sound of the Peanuts television specials, Guaraldi gave us beloved classics including "Linus and Lucy," "Christmas Time Is Here," and music from A Charlie Brown Christmas. His warm, unmistakable style has become part of the soundtrack of the holiday season.

At the piano is accomplished Northern Nevada musician John Shipley, an innovative jazz pianist, conductor, arranger, songwriter, producer and recording artist. A third-generation Nevadan and graduate of the University of Nevada, Shipley was a founding member of the groundbreaking jazz-fusion group Hiroshima and has built an extraordinary career spanning jazz, Motown, live performance, recording and music education.

Shipley has served as Musical Director and keyboardist for Motown legend Jack Ashford of The Funk Brothers and has performed and worked alongside an impressive range of nationally recognized artists. He also teaches music at Western Nevada College and has been an influential part of the Northern Nevada music community for decades.

For this special holiday performance, the John Shipley Trio brings Guaraldi's distinctive jazz style to life in a celebration filled with nostalgia, warmth and music that generations have grown up loving.
