Bird Language: The Hidden Conversations of the Wild

What if the forest has been speaking to you all along—and you simply haven't learned how to listen?

Every bird call, sudden movement, and unexpected silence tells a story. Birds are constantly communicating with one another, responding to predators, and revealing subtle changes happening across the landscape.

Join us for an immersive four-hour experience at Cochran Mill Park, where we'll explore the fascinating world of bird language and discover how to interpret the hidden conversations unfolding in nature.

This isn't your typical birdwatching class. Through guided exploration, sensory awareness practices, quiet observation, bird sits, and group storytelling, you'll learn to recognize bird calls, baseline behaviors, alarm patterns, and the subtle signals that reveal what may be happening beyond your sight.

Throughout the afternoon, you'll:

• Discover how birds communicate through calls, movement, and behavior.
• Learn to recognize the forest's natural baseline and changes that signal disturbance.
• Explore how birds respond to predators, people, and other wildlife.
• Practice stillness and sensory awareness to notice what others often miss.
• Experience a guided bird sit and learn to map observations across the landscape.
• Develop practical skills to deepen your connection with nature wherever you go.

No birding experience or special equipment is necessary. Whether you're a hiker, naturalist, wildlife enthusiast, or simply someone curious about the living world, this experience invites you to slow down, listen differently, and discover an entirely new way of experiencing nature.
