Beginning Intaglio: Copperplate Etching (4 weeks)
In this four week class, we’ll focus on learning the basics of prepping copper plates, scribing, and etching with ferric chloride. We will use the etching press and develop techniques for registering and printing a small edition of handmade prints.
This will be a small class with a max of 5 students, so there will be plenty of personalized instruction time. No previous printmaking experience necessary.
Students can also join us for open studio sessions to work on setting type or printing outside of class.
Class dates are Saturday mornings 10am-1pm: November 7, November 14, Novembe 21,November 28
