Black Student Vote Fest: Chicago State University

Black Student Vote Fest

Show Up. Converse. Connect. Vote.

The Black Student Vote Fest is a collaborative event celebrating and exploring the power of Black voters across Chicago. Presented in partnership with Chicago State University and the Illinois Legislative Black Caucus Foundation, this event brings together students, community leaders, advocates, and elected officials for meaningful conversations about civic engagement, community impact, and the importance of voting.

As part of our Fall Voter Activation Series, the primary goal of this event is to increase voter registration among eligible students while creating space for authentic dialogue around issues impacting Black communities.

We invite students, campus organizations, community leaders, and allies to join us as we build connections, exchange ideas, and strengthen civic participation across Chicago.

PURPOSE

Voting is one of the most powerful tools communities have to create change. Black Student Vote Fest aims to connect the act of voting with the real-life experiences, challenges, and opportunities facing Black students and communities.

Through dialogue, collaboration, and community engagement, we seek to explore:

• What resources and support are students currently seeking on their campuses?
• How is Black voter power being discussed and represented in our communities?
• What impact has civic engagement historically had on Black communities, and what impact can it have moving forward?

Together, we can develop solutions, strengthen community advocacy, and encourage the next generation of civic leaders.
