Edgar Miller Collage Workshop

Led by artist, Adrienne Nadeau, this workshop will guide attendees to learn and practice the craftwork of collage-making with its endless possibilities. Create your very own frameable collage poster, inspired by and utilizing prints of notable artists Edgar Miller, Jean Birkenstein Washington, and William Walker’s artwork. Themes will highlight their naturalistic and humanistic figurative design work. Attendees will be able to develop their own unique collage aesthetic, while using Miller, Birkenstein Washington, and Walker’s own work as a source of inspiration. This workshop will particularly explore the artwork currently on display at the Handmade Histories‍ ‍exhibition.

Registration fees include all necessary materials and equipment to create collage material from magazines, books, and decorative objects. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own print material that they may wish to use or share to create artistic displays. Come and spend an afternoon with us of hands-on learning and crafting. Light snacks and drinks will be provided during the workshop!

This workshop will take place on October 25th from 2-5PM, with visits to the Handmade Histories exhibition next door for inspiration. This event is facilitated in partnership with Art on Sedgwick and at their art center located at 1408 N Sedgwick St, Chicago, IL 60610.
