Art-Smart for Kids: M.C. Escher - Holiday Reflections in Watercolor

Art-Smart is designed with a short lesson about a famous artist, and then a related art project. Great for ages 8-12, come explore your creativity while channeling the reflections, impossible constructions, and tessellations of M.C. Escher. At this event, you are welcome to bring your own food and drinks to enjoy during the guided painting session. Professional artist, Rebecca Hayes of The Purple Hayes Gallery, will help you learn to use watercolor paint to draw & paint your own reflection, as seen in a glass holiday ornament. We will be using watercolor tablet paints, so please dress accordingly as these materials may stain clothing. All participants will take home a holiday ornament, along with their watercolor artwork. Art supplies and 2 hours of instruction will be provided. This event is sponsored by the Town of Clifton and The Art Guild of Clifton. The paint event will be held in the Clifton Town Hall (12641 Chapel Road, Clifton, VA). Seats are limited to 20 attendees, so please purchase your tickets ASAP!
