Dear Parents,
The school year is back—and with it comes a whole new rhythm for your family.
Earlier mornings. Busy classrooms. Homework. Sports and activities. Social pressures. Screens. Full schedules. And a whole lot of information coming at our kids all day long.
For some children, that transition feels much harder than it looks from the outside.
Maybe your child is struggling to focus or pay attention in the classroom.
Maybe they're constantly distracted, fidgety, forgetful, or having a hard time following directions.
Maybe mornings have become a battle—or your child holds it together all day at school only to completely fall apart when they get home.
Maybe you're seeing more anxiety, irritability, emotional outbursts, sensory overwhelm, difficulty sleeping, or homework struggles.
And you're left wondering…
Is this just a phase? Is it ADHD? Anxiety? Sensory overload? A nervous system that is struggling to keep up?
If you've found yourself asking, “Why is this so hard for my child?”—you're not alone.
Our children are being asked to learn, focus, regulate their emotions, navigate friendships, manage transitions, sit still, follow directions, and process an incredible amount of information throughout the day.
What happens when their nervous system is having a hard time keeping up with those demands?
At our ADHD, Anxiety + Nervous System Workshop for Parents, Dr. Marissa, Dr. Lauren, and Dr. Jacob will take a deeper look at the why behind the behaviors and challenges you're seeing.
We'll talk about the connection between the nervous system, attention, focus, anxiety, sensory processing, and regulation—and why some children seem to struggle more when the demands around them increase.
Most importantly, you'll leave with practical strategies and a new lens for understanding your child.
• Why focus and attention can be so difficult
We'll explore what may be happening beneath the surface when your child can't seem to sit still, pay attention, complete tasks, or stay on track—even when they're trying.
• The connection between anxiety and the nervous system
Understand why some children become overwhelmed, worried, irritable, avoidant, or emotionally reactive—and what regulation has to do with it.
• Why school can bring out the hardest behaviors
We'll talk about classroom demands, transitions, sensory input, social pressures, and the “after-school crash” many parents experience.
• Practical ways to support your child's regulation
You'll walk away with strategies you can begin implementing at home to help create more calm, connection, and confidence.
• A different way to understand your child's behavior
Instead of asking, “Why won't my child just listen?” or “Why can't they focus?”, we'll help you start asking, “What is their nervous system communicating?”
• Hope for your child's potential
We'll share real stories from families who have navigated anxiety, ADHD, sensory challenges, emotional regulation struggles, and school difficulties—and found a path forward.
This workshop is for parents and caregivers of children, teens or young adults who are experiencing:
You don't have to have all the answers. And your child doesn't have to fit neatly into a diagnosis for their struggles to be real.
Come learn how to better understand what your child's nervous system may be communicating—and what you can do to support them.
