Orchard Soil Health Workshop + Gathering

Join the Food Well Orchard Team and Dekalb Extension for a workshop and gathering at the Decatur Cemetery Community Orchard on October 30th! The gathering will include a workshop on orchard soil health, and time to hang out and enjoy some seasonal treats!

We'll cover:

• The importance of soil health
• Soil testing and interpreting results
• Feeding and fertilizing your trees
• Cultivating longterm soil health

This workshop is intended to support and connect community orchard stewards who are part of Food Well's Ourchard Project network. All community members who are interested in caring for current and future community orchard sites are invited to attend - no experience needed!

Getting to the Orchard:

The workshop will take place at the Community Orchard at the Decatur Cemetery. This address (299 Bell Street) will take you to the only building in the cemetary. Parking is available along the road in front of the building. Restrooms are available inside.

The orchard is a short walk on mostly paved, but sloped walkways from the parking area. We'll have signs and staff to help guide you .

If you have any questions, please reach out to us at gardens@foodwellalliance.org.

This workshop is hosted in partnership with Dekalb County Extension and Friends of Decatur Cemetery.
