Day of the Dead Celebration
About This Event
The community is invited to CityPlace Doral's Fifth Annual Day of the Dead Celebration recognizing this culturally rich Latin American tradition.
Starting in October, CityPlace Doral will be vibrantly decorated with colorful Dia de Los Muertos-themed décor including sugar skulls, colorful hanging decor and photo ops throughout the plaza.
The installation will culminate with a free community event on Sunday, Nov. 1, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Fountain Plaza. Guests will celebrate life with a center-wide processional with performances by folkloric dancers, stilt walkers, mariachis and oversized calavera and Catrina puppets. Emceed by Comedian Rafael Leidenz, who will pay a special tribute with an impersonation of Mexican singer Juan Gabriel. Enjoy a special performance by Baila Conmigo Kids youth dance group.
Families can enjoy complimentary face painting, food sampling from CityPlace Doral’s restaurants and more. Guests can also shop and stroll the “El Mercado” vendor market.
