El Paso | Rethinking Adolescent Literacy Intervention

National research shows that many older students are still missing foundational reading skills.

Join national literacy leader Antonio Fierro, Reading Horizons, fellow district leaders, and literacy professionals for an interactive conversation about what striving adolescent readers actually need.

Together, we’ll examine how reading develops, how to identify the underlying skills that may be holding readers back, and what those insights mean for effective adolescent intervention.

During this interactive conversation, we’ll discuss:

• What national research reveals about adolescent readers and unfinished literacy learning
• How to identify the underlying skills that may be holding readers back
• What these insights mean for district intervention strategy and support
