Join Cecil Pride for Voices & Visibility Book Club📚🌈— a welcoming space to discover new authors, explore diverse stories, and connect with fellow readers!
📖 November's Book:
The City We Became by N. K. Jemisin
Dive into a fantastical story where New York City comes alive through human avatars who must come together to protect their city from an ancient threat.
Our Voices & Visibility Book Club is about more than finishing a book. We come together to discover diverse authors, explore different perspectives, and celebrate and amplify marginalized voices and stories that are often underrepresented, unheard, or pushed to the margins.
What to Expect:
• A relaxed and welcoming book discussion
• Conversation about the month's featured book
• Opportunities to share perspectives and hear from others
• Connection and community through a shared love of reading
Haven’t finished every page? Come anyway! You don't need to be an expert reader or literary critic to participate — we want this to be an approachable space where people can enjoy books and community together.
Important Information:
This book club is open to all ages. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. We encourage parents and guardians to review books beforehand to determine whether the content is appropriate for their child and family.
You don’t need to be an expert reader or literary critic — just bring yourself, your book, and an open mind!
Food & Drink is available for purchase, please support local businesses that support us!
Whether you’re LGBTQIA+, an ally, family, or friend — you belong here.
Let’s keep Building Community—One Brick at a Time.
