That can make the signs easy to miss.
Trafficking also doesn’t always begin with a stranger or a dramatic abduction. It can start with someone gaining a person’s trust, offering attention or support, and gradually taking advantage of their vulnerabilities.
That’s why knowing what to look for matters.
Hidden in Plain Sight: A Human Trafficking Awareness Forum will bring together experts and organizations working to prevent human trafficking and support survivors for a moderated panel discussion. Young people, parents, educators, and community members are encouraged to attend.
Panelists will discuss common grooming techniques, warning signs to watch for, practical ways to help prevent trafficking, resources available to those who need help, and current efforts to combat human trafficking.
Human trafficking can be hidden in plain sight. Come learn how to recognize the signs, help prevent trafficking, and be part of creating safer communities.
The event is free and open to the public.
It will be held in Building "G" Commonwealth College Center, Bristol Community College Fall River Campus.
Food will be provided.
The forum is presented by Bristol Community College, Bristol County Commission on the Status of Women, and Plymouth County Commission on the Status of Women.
