Overview
Let's practice turning our attention toward what is good, nourishing, beautiful, or supportive in our lives—not as a way of ignoring what is difficult, but as a way of remembering that difficulty is never the whole story. Focusing on our resources and strengths in this way, can give us boost our well-being and resilience.
For this month’s Mindful Creativity Practice, we’ll explore Noticing the Good through SoulCollage®, an intuitive and playful process of creating 5" × 8" collage cards from images that speak to us. AND, if this theme does not resonate for you, you are welcome to create cards with a different focus what would support you.
We’ll begin with a simple mindfulness practice and reflection. From there, we’ll spend time looking through images and creating SoulCollage® cards. Rather than beginning with an idea of what we should create, we’ll allow ourselves to be drawn to images, colors, and possibilities and discover what wants to emerge. Our cards might reflect something we appreciate, a source of nourishment or strength, a simple pleasure, or something entirely unexpected.
After making our cards, we’ll have an opportunity to listen more deeply to what they may have to say through a gentle reflective writing practice and optional sharing.
No artistic experience is needed; beginners are warmly welcome. SoulCollage® is about intuition, curiosity, and discovery rather than artistic skill. All supplies are provided, along with water, tea, and coffee. You are welcome to bring your own images if you would like, but this is optional. This workshop is offered on a donation to make it accessible to all.
