Please join us at the Fort Walton Yacht Club for our annual recognition of all veterans, with special appreciation for the members of the Okaloosa Bar Association who have served, or continue to serve, our country.
This year, we are honored to recognize retired Judge Erwin Fleet as the 2026 Distinguished Veteran of the Year.
Judge Fleet has been a member of The Florida Bar for an extraordinary 76 years and celebrated his 99th birthday on September 24, 2026. Throughout his remarkable career, he has devoted decades of service to our local community, the legal profession, and the bar.
His commitment to service extends well beyond the courtroom. Judge Fleet served as an infantry officer during the Korean War, served as U.S. Commissioner to Eglin Air Force Base from 1959–1971, and as U.S. Magistrate to Eglin Air Force Base from 1971–1973.
The Okaloosa Bar Association is deeply honored to recognize Judge Fleet for his extraordinary record of service and his enduring contributions to our community, our profession, and our country.
Please join us in celebrating the men and women who have selflessly served, and continue to serve, our country!
