IUCC is proud to host The Wayward Artist and their season closing show!
Four girls. One Catholic reformatory. A world they were never supposed to imagine.
Set in 1914, Monica Byrne’s provocative and deeply moving play follows four teenage girls who discover the writings of birth control activist Margaret Sanger and begin imagining lives beyond the ones prescribed for them. Together, they create a private world of friendship, ritual, adventure, faith, and possibility.
What happens when girls begin to imagine freedom?
Directed by Lizzy McCabe, What Every Girl Should Know is an intimate, mischievous, and fearless exploration of girlhood, friendship, faith, bodily autonomy, and the desire to be free.
