Build a Cabinet: Carcass, Drawers & Doors (2-Day Workshop)

Ready to take your woodworking skills to the next level? In this hands-on, two-day workshop, you'll learn the essential techniques used to build a professional-quality cabinet from the ground up.
This class is designed around building a half-scale cabinet, allowing students to complete the entire project during the workshop while creating a practical reference model they can take home. The scaled-down cabinet showcases the same construction methods used in full-size cabinetry, making it an excellent guide for building larger cabinets on your own.
Day 1: Cabinet Carcass Construction
Participants will learn how to accurately measure, cut, and assemble a cabinet carcass using pocket-hole joinery. Topics include material selection, layout, assembly techniques, and tips for building square, sturdy cabinet boxes that form the foundation of any successful cabinetry project.
Day 2: Drawers & Cabinet Doors
The second session focuses on building and fitting cabinet drawers, followed by the construction of traditional rail-and-stile cabinet doors. Students will learn door assembly techniques, drawer construction methods, and best practices for achieving proper fit, alignment, and smooth operation.
Throughout the class, instructors will cover tool setup, safety, workflow, and woodworking techniques that can be applied to kitchen cabinets, shop storage, garage cabinets, built-ins, and furniture projects.
