Supporting Outstanding Unique Projects

Knox SOUP is a community dinner where local people come together to hear great ideas, share a meal, and help make those ideas happen.

At each SOUP dinner, up to four individuals or groups have a few minutes to inform, inspire, and make the case for a project that could make Knox County stronger, more connected, and more vibrant.

Then comes the fun part: the community votes!

Your suggested $5 donation includes soup, salad, bread, dessert—and your vote. The project receiving the most votes gets the money raised at the door. Raffle proceeds are also used to provide funding to the other presenting projects, so more than one community idea can receive support.

FOUR EASY QUESTIONS. A FEW MINUTES. A CHANCE TO MAKE IT HAPPEN.

Each presenter answers four simple questions:

1. What’s the project?
2. Why does it matter to the community?
3. How will you use the funding?
4. What’s your time frame?

Since 2015, Knox SOUP has raised more than $14,500 to support creative, grassroots projects in our community.

Proposals are welcome from anywhere in Knox County. You don't need to be a nonprofit or have a big organization behind you. If you have an idea that could make a difference, we want to hear it.
