Velvet Mic Presents RichardJ

Madame X Presents: Velvet Mic Night

Featuring RICHARDJ

UNFILTERED. PROVOCATIVE. ENDURING.

For nearly twenty years, Richard James Girard II—RichardJ—has been a recognizable presence in Tampa Bay’s spoken-word scene, moving from open mic to open mic with poetry, wit, sharp observation, and stories that refuse to be ordinary.

A poet, writer, humorist, and broadcaster, RichardJ turns lived experience and cultural commentary into work that is intelligent, irreverent, and unmistakably his own.

Author of Molotov Cocktails, Pipe Bombs, and Other Family Recipes, he has spent two decades not simply participating in the scene, but helping give it character.

A familiar voice. A lasting presence. A writer still evolving.
