Mosaic Lamp Making Workshop in Kansas City, KS

Mosaic lamps have lit homes and bazaars across Turkey for generations, and in this hands-on Turkish mosaic lamp workshop in Kansas City, you get to make one yourself. No art background needed. The craft comes from Turkey, where artisans have set glass mosaics by hand for centuries, and you'll follow the same basic approach.First, pick a style that fits your space, from a small candle holder to a statement Moon lamp. Next, choose your palette. Then build your design piece by piece while an instructor walks you through spacing, color balance, and finishing touches. A cup of Turkish coffee and a plate of baklava keep you company as you create, just as they would in a workshop in Istanbul.Sessions take place at Lenexa Rec Center, with free parking on site. The convenient Lenexa location makes it an easy creative outing for guests from Kansas City, Lenexa, and nearby communities. The class makes an easy Kansas City date night, a birthday outing, a bachelorette activity, or a team-building event people actually talk about afterward. It's also a memorable gift for someone who loves making things. Kids 8 and up are welcome with an adult. You'll walk out with a lamp that's entirely your own design and a story about how you made it.
