Note from producer Dan Cohen
"I’m excited about hosting this program. I met Jon Bennett at a small club in Portland, Oregon shortly after the pandemic. He was headlining that night, and what impressed me, beyond the gales of laughter he induced, was that there was nothing in his story—about accidentally shooting his preacher father on a hunting trip—that stretched credibility. And it was both hilarious and heartrending. Then I looked him up and discovered he was world renowned, although his career had been knee-capped by the pandemic. His reviews were just as extraordinary as he was.
Jon is a comic wizard and he should be selling out on Broadway and I’m sure that’ll happen soon. But right now I’m proud to bring him to the Lodge, my favorite showcase. Of the several shows he’s written for himself, tonight’s, “American’t” is very special. You’ll leave the show different than when you come in."
