How does a regular job become forced labor? How does a normal online friendship become exploitation? This session reveals the six mechanics that underlie all forms of trafficking: grooming, isolation, economic leverage, physical isolation, coercion, and trauma bonding.

What you'll do:

Work through two parallel scenarios at your table. One follows Maya, a 17-year-old targeted through online enticement. The other follows David, a 28-year-old Guatemalan worker whose H-2B visa gets transferred to an exploitative employer.

At four decision points in each scenario, your table chooses what happens next, and you'll see how each mechanic tightens the trap.
