Dance Meditation

Whatever your relationship with dance, dance is an expression of you. These exercises support your intuitive connection to your body and your mindful awareness of others as you dance together.

This class does not require any prior dance experience, though previous dance experience is supported. You meet yourself where you are.
Through deep listening...
...your body shares with you what movement it wants to do
...you invite yourself into new movement and see how you react
...you witness how you reflexively respond to others' movement
...you invite yourself to react in new ways to others' movement
...you notice how you respond to different music
...you invite music into your movement in new ways

Your teacher, Lara Marcin, is a professional dancer and choreographer who has studied numerous dance styles, wiggles at home, dances ecstatically at parties and ecstatic dance events, creates with heart in independent and commercial industries, and has taught students ages toddler to elder. DIRECTIONS FOR ENTRY

Centered is located in the same building as East Rock Market.

STEP 1: Enter through the outside double doors.

STEP 2: Don't go through the doors to the market itself. Instead, turn right then left to see another set of double doors leading to a long hallway.

STEP 3: If there is no one waiting for you at the hallway doors, use the doorbell to the left of the double doors to call Centered.

STEP 4: Once in the hallway, follow the signs to Centered's entrance. Note: Keep following the signs. The path to get to Centered's entrance can feel surprisingly long from the front doors, but the signs will lead you there.
