About This Event

Gather with other community-centric fundraisers in Louisiana for an UnConference! Community-Centric Fundraising (CCF) is a fundraising model that is grounded in equity and social justice. An unconference is a participant-driven meeting where we collectively shape the conversation around our shared interests, questions, and expertise. If you want to join, but cost is a barrier to your participation, please email louisianaccfchapter@gmail.com to waive the $5 registration fee.

There’s no predetermined agenda or set speaker. Instead, participants share what they want to learn, what they can teach, and what they’d like to explore together. Anyone can lead a discussion, join a session that sparks their interest, or simply connect with fellow community-centric fundraisers exploring the CCF movement.

Have something you want to learn, teach, practice, or discuss? Or just want more time with others doing this work? Come join us and help create the conversation!

The core principles of an unconference are:

→ Whoever shows up are the right people. The participants present are exactly who should be there.
→ Whatever happens is what was meant to happen. Embrace the organic nature of discussions and follow where it leads.
→ It starts when it starts: Allow natural timing rather than rigid schedules. It ends when it ends as well, and we can move into a different topic at any time.
→ The law of movement: If you’re not learning or contributing in a way that you like, you are free to move to another session. This includes people who are leading a discussion. If you decide you no longer want to lead or you’ve shared what you can, you are welcome to move as well."

Accessibility and Public Transit:

The facility is reported as wheelchair accessible for visitors and event spaces. It is located near the intersection of Washington Ave and S Broad Ave, which is served by RTA bus lines 27, 28, and 94. We encourage those interested to visit New Orleans Regional Transit Authority at norta.com for the most up-to-date bus routes and times.

New to CCF? Here are some resources:

You don't have to be an expert in CCF, but we won't be going over the basics of CCF at the meeting, so we expect everyone to do some reading, watching, or listening before we meet. Here are some resources you can check out to get up to speed. (Please do not feel like you need to go through all the resources here. We wanted to provide options based on your interest and media of choice).
