So many of you joined us last summer, and we're looking forward to another summer of New Catch Holland Herring and celebrating with you! Join us again this year as we continue the tradition. We'll be hosting the Herring Pairing this year on two separate dates - first at our 34th Street location, and a week later at our Cafe on Orchard Street. Both of these events will be similar in menu and format, with passed and stationed cocktail party style small bites and beverage pairings at the bar. There will be no assigned seats or tables, so you can schmooze, mingle, and nosh! Take part in one of these evening celebrations, and dive into the wonders of herring, including the prized New Catch Holland Herring (Hollandse Nieuwe) at the peak of its season. You’ll experience this piece of gastronomic heaven, a fabulous buttery and mild matjes (young) herring unlike any other, due to its exceptionally high and healthy omega-3 fat content. Many compare its buttery texture and delicate flavor to the finest sashimi. We'll feature all our herrings with unique recipes and drink pairings, showcasing the humble origins of Russ & Daughters in a herring barrel 112 years ago!
