Please join us for an intimate book talk with New York Times best-selling author Anand Giridharadas on Monday, November 2, from 5:15 – 6:30 p.m.
During the event, Fountain House members, staff and friends will read brief excerpts from Anand’s newly released best-selling book, "Man in the Mirror: Hope, Struggle, and Belonging in an American City."
The book uses the terrible killing of Jordan Neely in 2023 on the F train as a springboard to discuss challenges in New York City and in our country.
Jordan was a well-known Michael Jackson impersonator who lived with serious mental health challenges. Anand delves into the many things that went wrong leading up to this tragic happening. He also shines a light on many places that make a difference – including Fountain House, which he says gives him hope.
After the readings, Bryan Doerries, Theater of War Productions artistic director, will moderate a conversation with Anand, the readers and members of the Fountain House community.
Book signing with Anand will take place immediately following the discussion.
We hope you’ll join us for an evening of community and connection. Please register to confirm your attendance by Friday, October 30.
