A night created for the people who usually make space for everyone else

If you have a sibling or family member with an intellectual or developmental disability, this night is for you.

Sibling Social is a free after-work mixer created specifically for the siblings and family members who rarely get a room of their own.

Join us at Sugar Mouse NYC for good music, drinks, real conversation, and the opportunity to meet people who understand this part of life without requiring an explanation.

This is not a conference, workshop, or formal support group. There are no panels and no forced networking. Come for an hour or stay for the evening.

What to expect

• Music by DJ Mac Rascal
• Happy hour through 7:00 p.m.
• Brief welcome remarks from the organizers at 7:15 p.m.
• A relaxed, come-as-you-are atmosphere
• Plenty of time to meet, talk, and enjoy the space

Whether you arrive alone or with someone you know, you will be welcomed.

Who is this for?

Sibling Social centers adult siblings of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities while welcoming other adult family members or friends who share similar experiences.

You do not need to identify as a caregiver or have a particular role within your family. There is no expectation to discuss anything personal. This is simply a space to connect on your own terms.

About Sibling Social

Sibling Social was founded by Adi Rajan and is produced by Shagara, an arts and cultural programming company creating inclusive experiences across New York City.

Adi is the son to Indian immigrant parents and the brother to Ashwin, a person with neurodivergence. In hopes to find his community, Adi decided it was time to build his own.
