INSIDE OUT

An 8-Week Youth Emotional Wellness & Coping Skills Group

Sometimes what young people carry on the inside is much bigger than what we see on the outside.

Inside Out is an interactive 8-week group designed to give middle and high school students a supportive space to explore emotions, navigate life transitions and everyday stressors, strengthen coping skills, and learn healthier ways to respond when life feels overwhelming.

Rather than simply telling youth to “calm down” or “make better choices,” Inside Out helps them understand what they are feeling, why they may be feeling it, and what they can do with those emotions.

Throughout the 8-week experience, participants will learn and practice skills related to:

• Understanding and identifying emotions
• Managing stress and overwhelming feelings
• Healthy emotional regulation
• Coping with change and life transitions
• Building confidence and resilience
• Communication and self-expression
• Problem-solving and healthy decision-making
• Identifying trusted adults and positive support systems
• Learning when and how to ask for help

Each 60-minute session combines age-appropriate mental health education with interactive activities, group discussions, reflection exercises, skill practice, and opportunities for connection.

Separate programming is provided for middle school and high school students so discussions, examples, activities, and skills can be tailored to each developmental stage.

Inside Out is designed to help young people walk away with more than information. Our goal is for participants to leave with practical tools they can use at home, at school, in relationships, and during difficult moments.

Growing up comes with changes and young people deserve the tools and support to navigate what’s happening on the inside, too.
