Hunter Pence's Spooky Clean Up Crawl

👻 Spooky Clean Up Crawl 2026

In partnership with the Oakland Roots, Trash Falcons, and Baykeeper

For the first time, the Healthy Planet Project is bringing the Spooky Clean Up Crawl to Oakland! In partnership with the Oakland Roots and Trash Falcons, we’re inviting volunteers of all ages to get into the Halloween spirit with a morning of community service at Lake Merritt, followed by a frightfully festive celebration.

At the heart of Oakland, Lake Merritt is the perfect place to bring our community together for a morning of climate action. Volunteers will work together to pick up litter around the lake while learning how pollution can impact the Bay. San Francisco Baykeeper will bring some friendly competition to the morning with a fun, interactive team challenge to put your environmental knowledge to the test.

Following the clean up, stick around for a spooktacular lunch hour featuring music from Oakland's own DJ Umami, trick-or-treating, Halloween crafts for little ghouls and goblins, prizes, and more. Plus, meet Oakland businesses and community organizations doing wickedly good work throughout the city.

Come in costume, bring the family, and get ready to give back, have some fun, and celebrate Oakland together.

Get ready for:

• A community cleanup around Lake Merritt
• Costume contests and prizes
• Lunch provided by Ike's
• Family friendly fun
• Raffle prizes and giveaways
• A showcase of Oakland sports, businesses, and community organizations
• Limited-edition Healthy Planet Project merch
