Watercolor Animal: Developing Self-Discipline through Art

In this engaging weekly art class, students will create a new watercolor animal while exploring a variety of watercolor materials, including watercolor pencils, traditional pan watercolors, and watercolor pens. They will learn how to sketch simple shapes, blend and layer colors, control water, and add details that bring each animal to life. Every project is beginner-friendly and taught through clear, step-by-step instruction.

In addition to developing artistic skills, students will practice focusing, following directions, staying on task, working through challenges, and completing a project from beginning to end. The creative process encourages patience, self-regulation, confidence, and individual expression.

Each week features a different animal, watercolor medium, or painting technique, allowing students to build their skills while creating a collection of artwork they are proud of.
