In this 2- or 4-day class (details below), students will build an end table 15" x 21" x max 30" tall. This is an excellent follow-up class if you've taken our Woodworking 101 class. Students will choose between Maple, Cherry, Red Oak, and Mahogany species to make their table. Under the guidance of a master woodworker, you'll learn everything you need to know as you select your wood, then use the table saw, jointer, planer, router table, miter saw, and other shop tools to take your table from blueprint right through to sanded and ready-for-finish. Topics covered include material selection, preparing stock for precision joinery, gluing up wide panels, mortise-and-tennon joinery, pocket screw joinery, and application of hand tool techniques including use of chisels, planes and scrapers. The class fee includes all materials and hardware to build and sand your table. (Finishing is not included, but we will provide recommendations on products & techniques to achieve a professional finish easily at home.) Prior carpentry / woodworking experience may be helpful, but is not required for this class.
