Mindful Momentum:A Moving Meditation
About This Event
Join us for the first meeting of this new class. The practice continues as a weekly Thursday evening offering from 7:00–8:30 PM, giving you space to build familiarity, deepen your awareness, and keep discovering what becomes possible when mindfulness meets movement.
Mindful Momentum is a moving meditation for people who can't sit still. This weekly workshop draws from professional theatre and dance training to guide participants through physical explorations of tempo, shape, spatial awareness, and presence — using the body as the primary instrument of mindfulness.
Each session opens with breathwork and a gentle warm-up, then moves into structured group exercises that sharpen your awareness of sensation, impulse, and the moment you're in. All exercises are adaptable — prompts are invitations to your own physical exploration, not benchmarks to meet.
Whether mindfulness has been recommended to you or you've simply been curious, this practice meets you in motion and builds naturally from session to session — newcomers are always welcome.
About the Facilitator
Rebekah Lane has been moving, creating, and exploring the relationship between body and mind since she was five years old. It wasn't until the end of her undergraduate training that she recognized what had been happening all along: the same physical practices that sharpened her artistry were also regulating her stress, steadying her emotions, and grounding her in the present. Rebekah now works as a theatre practitioner — directing, teaching, and developing new work — and presence is the foundation of everything she makes and facilitates. She brings that same commitment to Mindful Momentum: a practice she doesn't just teach, but lives.
