TEDxOshkosh Background & Other Information

About TEDx, x = independently organized event

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxOshkosh, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxOshkosh event, TED Talks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

Common Questions (FAQ)

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

With the exception of registrations made under a discounted student price (which require a current student ID), there are no ID requirements for admission. TEDxOshkosh is suitable for people of high school age or older.

Where is TEDxOshkosh being held this year?

Our home since we started has been the historic Grand Oshkosh. This year, The Grand will be closed for rennovation, so shows and events at The Grand - including TEDxOshkosh! - will be moving to the performing arts theatre at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, temporariliy renamed The Grand at UW-Oshkosh. The address is 1020 Algoma Blvd., Oshkosh.

What are my parking options?

• Display map (scroll down to "Where should I park?")
• Interactive map

The recommended parking lot for Grand patrons (and TEDxOshkosh attendees) is Lot 27 (across Algoma Blvd. from the Theatre Arts Center on the corner of High Ave & Vine Ave next to the heating plant). There is a sidewalk that leads to The Grand at UW-Oshkosh. Lot 3 (adjacent to the theatre) is the designated Accessibility Lot. On-street parking is also available. Parking will be monitored per UW–Oshkosh Parking Services/Oshkosh Police Department policies. Please note that if you choose to park outside of designated areas and receive a ticket, The Grand and TEDxOshkosh are unable to assist.

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?

It's easy! Just send email to info@tedxoshkosh.com.

What's the refund policy?

We know plans can change, and we want to be flexible for you. Your first option - and we're sure you'd be thanked for it - is to give your registration to a friend. They can use it in your place, although we'd like you to edit the registration to change the name so we can print a correct nametag. We also offer the option for a full refund up to 7 days before the event. While we'd like to allow refunds after that, our financial commitment to our caterer prevents us from doing so.
