BURLESQUE (2010)

Director: Steve Antin

Co-starring Christina Aguilera, Stanley Tucci, Kristen Bell

By the time Burlesque arrived in 2010, Cher had spent decades redefining what it meant to be a pop icon. As Tess, the owner of a struggling Los Angeles nightclub, she brings strength, confidence, and hard-earned wisdom to a story centered on ambition, reinvention, and the power of performance. Opposite Christina Aguilera's rising star, Cher embodies a woman who has survived, adapted, and remained true to herself in an ever-changing industry. The result is a role that feels uniquely suited to an artist whose own career has long celebrated independence, resilience, and unapologetic self-expression.

DEAR MOM, LOVE CHER (2013)

Directed by P. David Ebersole and produced by Todd Hughes, Dear Mom, Love Cher offers an intimate look at the remarkable life of Cher's mother, Georgia Holt, a singer, actress and model whose own dreams of stardom helped shape her famous daughter. Featuring rare family interviews, archival footage and previously unreleased music, the documentary celebrates three generations of an extraordinary show-business family.

THE EBERSOLE HUGHES COMPANY is a unique creative collaboration from the award-winning husband & husband team P DAVID EBERSOLE & TODD HUGHES, each an accomplished writer, director and producer.

Credits include work with HBO, Showtime, Netflix, Fox Television, IFC, Sundance Channel, and Lifetime, where they made their documentary on Georgia Holt, “DEAR MOM, LOVE CHER.”

Their stylish and provocative work has been called “hugely entertaining” (Screen Daily), “wondrous and delirious” (Screen Anarchy), and “strikingly modern featuring mouth agape moments” (Hollywood Reporter).

Dubbed “renaissance men” (by Palm Springs Life) and tapped as LGBTQ notables in the annual issue of Out 100, the duo’s career focus has been on making documentaries about creative pioneers, but they have each written their first published books, and together have a new feature film now in the final stages of post production called FLOWERS PARA LOS MUERTOS.
