The start of the holiday season at the winery. Fifty percent off all wines by the case or half case, so you can stock your cellar or get ahead of holiday entertaining. Vendors fill the back room and the patio, weather permitting: artists Steve Ellenburg and Deb Roos, baker Crystal Allen, and High on Hope Jewelry. Soup or stew for guests is on the house.

Nello Olivo Winery, 3544 Carson Road, Camino, CA 95709, in the Apple Hill and Foothills area. Take the Camino exit off Highway 50, next door to Hwy 50 Brewery. About 10 minutes from Placerville, 35 from Folsom, 45 from Sacramento, an hour from South Lake Tahoe.
