Live Music & Wine, Nello Olivo Winery, Camino (Apple Hill/Foothills area)

Every Friday from 5, Saturday from 4 and Sunday from 2 the patio at Nello Olivo Winery fills with live music, long views over the Apple Hill and Foothills area and the smell of pizza from Hwy 50 Brewery next door. Free to attend. Wine is by the glass or bottle for guests 21 and over, with non-alcoholic drinks for everyone else, and the patio is family friendly and open air, with plenty of parking and room for big groups. Dogs on a leash are welcome. Food comes from the brewery's kitchen on the shared patio: pizza, Italian salads, wings, tacos and chili, mostly $10 to $20. The wines are made by Nello Olivo himself, 87 years old and known around here as The Grapefather, from eleven estate-grown Italian varieties in El Dorado County. Find us at 3544 Carson Road, just off Highway 50 at the Camino exit, about 45 minutes from Sacramento and an hour from South Lake Tahoe. HOURS AND FRIDAY SPECIAL

Tasting room: Monday and Tuesday 11 to 5, Thursday noon to 6, Friday and Saturday 11 to 7, Sunday 11 to 6. Closed Wednesday. Live music on the patio: Fridays 5 to 8, Saturdays 4 to 7, Sundays 2 to 5.
