About the instructors:

Stacy Owen’s journey of bringing her designs to life began more than 20 years ago, when she learned to make quilts from her in-laws. She makes both modern and art quilts, as well as sewing bags, purses, and clothing. She services and restore antique, vintage, and modern computerized sewing machines. Stacy is a member of Maine Modern Quilters and Studio Art Quilt Associates.

Katie Champlin is a Fashion & Textile designer from Portland, Maine. After earning a BFA from the Maine College of Art and Design, she refined her craft within an esteemed fashion design studio nestled in the heart of the NYC garment district. She returned to Maine in early 2024, where she was excited to reintegrate into the Portland art community. She challenges her practice by participating in competitions and shows including the BIAAF international design contest and Runway For Hope in Portland, ME. Katie specializes in apparel design, soft goods design, print design, mending, and upcycling.

Jillian Carrozza graduated from The Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC and from Central Saint Martins in London, UK, specializing in fashion design with knitwear. She enjoyed knitwear-focused internships at Knit-1 in Brighton, UK, and with an LVMH fashion house in Paris, France. Her passion for textiles is rooted in knitting, as it offers total creative command in materializing design ideas. She is honored to share her experience and creative outlook with all who are curious to learn.
