Where do clients get lost between us, and what can we do differently?
Behavioral health care doesn’t happen within a single organization. Clients and families often move between schools, outpatient providers, higher levels of care, hospitals, community resources, and other systems—and some of the biggest challenges happen in the spaces between them.
The Space Between Us is an interactive Champion Series event bringing together behavioral health providers and community partners from across the Portland area to have an honest, collaborative conversation about those spaces.
Rather than another traditional presentation, this event is designed to get us talking with one another about what we’re seeing across our community. Through facilitated small-group activities, attendees will explore common points where communication, coordination, and transitions can break down and consider what the experience looks like from the perspective of the clients and families navigating those systems.
We’ll then bring perspectives from across the behavioral health community together for a panel conversation inspired by the themes that emerge in the room. Panelists will discuss real challenges, answer questions, and share ideas for how we can strengthen collaboration and create smoother pathways between services.
Most importantly, this is an opportunity to meet the people on the other side of the referral, build relationships across our community, and leave with new connections and ideas we can carry back into our work.
Lunch will be provided.
