Feeding the Future
A collaborative group show organized by Alberta Street Gallery members Sasha Wilk and Gabe Wolfe. Both curating artists are parents of young children and have brought together other creatives who are caregivers, educators, or allies of children to showcase work that uplifts and celebrates youth. As citizens invested in hope for a future built on love and care, we know that the next generation requires our attention to nourish them into becoming the compassionate, responsible, and thoughtful humans the next chapter of humanity needs. The works in this show feature images centering play, connection, and collaboration as enriching elements of young people's lives.
The artists: Sasha Wilk, Gabe Wolfe, Kyra Watkins, Elizabeth Goss, Stefania Salles Bruins, Corinne Kenly Barber, Forest Salazar, Danny Stephens and Kristie Winther.
Alberta Street Gallery is a friendly and vibrant cooperative gallery of 30 local artists in the heart of the Alberta Arts District in Northeast Portland.
In addition to our members’ art, we mount monthly shows that begin on the “Last Thursday” of every month. Our front windows feature new work by two of our member artists, and we curate group shows in Lavaun's Community Gallery, a special exhibition space inside the gallery named for and made possible by gallery member Lavaun Benavidez Heaster, a legally blind collage artist who died in 2020.
