Freedom Matters: A Pro-Democracy Narrative Briefing + Happy Hour (21+)

Join ComNetworkPDX and Metropolitan Group for an afternoon of learning, conversation and connection revolving around the power of narrative and how we can use it to strengthen democracy.

Metropolitan Group will lead a briefing on the Pro-Democracy Narrative Playbook, a collaborative, nonpartisan initiative grounded in extensive research and message testing across 12 countries. The research identifies narrative approaches, values and tested messages that can help build understanding of and support for democratic principles.

What you'll take away

During the briefing and discussion, you'll:

• Explore what research tells us about the narratives that strengthen support for democracy.
• Learn about tested values, narrative pillars and messaging you can use in your communications.
• Ideas for how to apply these approaches to your own organization, audience and issues.

Then, stay for a happy hour.*

Because the best learning often continues in conversation.

After the briefing, stick around for a hosted happy hour with fellow communicators and nonprofit partners. Bring your questions, your ideas and your curiosity. Meet communications leaders across our region and discuss how we can respond to this moment in our own backyards.

*This event is strictly 21+ only. A valid, government-issued photo ID is required for entry.
